Stalwarts from the Ayurveda and Yoga universe came together at the press conference called on November 6, at the Press Club of India in New Delhi, to announce the launch of AYURYOG EXPO 2019 which starts on November 7 and continues till November 10, 2019 at the India Expo Mart and Centre at Greater Noida. This is the first world assembly on Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy.
Shri Rakesh Sharma, Chairman, IEML and Director General, EPCH in his opening statements spoke of his immense pride in bringing to the nation an event of the level of AYURYOG EXPO 2019. "The four-day event will cover the entire field of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, a first in India. We have a galaxy of names who will ensure that AYURYOG EXPO 2019 will meet the needs of all who wish to attain wellbeing and health," he said before handing over the mike to the others sharing the dais with him.

"While one side of the event sees gurus and yogis like Yogrishi Swami Ramdev Maharaj, Swami Amrta Suryananda Maha Raja, Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Sri Swami Maheshwarananda Puri, on the other we have scientific sessions led by the likes of Dr Lorenzo Cohen and Dr Sat Bir Singh Khalsa. This is to highlight that Yoga and Ayurveda is not merely a mumbo jumbo science but evidence based and science based."
Padma Bhushan Vaidya DevendraTriguna, President of All India Ayurvedic Congress said, "I am happy to see a 'sangam' of Yog and Ayurveda in an event of such a massive scale. We have to send out a message that India has been able to establish Yoga as a leading health science globally. When we began spreading the message of Ayurveda and Yoga in Europe in the late 70s, it was still nascent. Today lakhs of people follow the system and there are thousands of Ayurveda practitioners. I believe this will send out a positive message of health and wellbeing globally."
Dr. Bhushan Patwardhan, Vice Chairman, University Grants Commission felt that, "Globally, when there is a push for integrated medicine, Ayurveda and Yoga needs to be publicized and put on a common platform. I think both these fields are very important to treat lifestyle diseases."
According to Dr. Darshan Shankar, Founder of the University of Trans-Disciplinary Health Sciences and Technology, “ The conference, which is a very large world assembly, is symbolic of the shift that is taking place globally in the healthcare space from disease management to health management."
Lastly, Shri SatyendraMehra, Group Director, Nuernberg Messe India said, "BIOFACH is part of the world family of international events organised in Germany, Japan, Thailand, China and Brazil.
