Hello sir , i am working with a gym from last 5 years of experience as a sales head its been long time working on a same position now i am thinking to upgrade myself but i am not getting what can i do for my better future can you please suggest me . Thanks and Regards

  • Dr. Chirag Sethi

    Dear Shilpi,

The gym works on 2 pillars sales as well training. Sales team is responsible for selling the various membership packages and making sure to reach the monthly targets . Unfortunately the growth for the sales team and managers are limited. You have 2 options now
    -  Look for gym owners with multiple gym set ups so that instead of 1 you can manage 2 and the salary and incentives would be higher.
    - Look for opportunities in the franchising industry. A lot of the companies who are in the franchise business will look for experts like you. Speak to a good franchise company like anytime fitness or golds gym and look for a new profile

Hello Sir, Which certification is better for personal training course ACE, ACSM, NASM ,NESTA as there are many international course ?

  • Dr. Chirag Sethi

If you are looking at a good international certification ACE/ACSM both are at a equal level, The number of certified ACE professionals are much higher on the other hand. My personal vote goes to ACE, I have done both . I feel ACE is more application based.

Sir, I have done BFY CERTIFIED PERSONAL TRAINER AND BFY CERTIFIED FITNESS TRAINER. ALSO I have done Advanced personal Trainer from ASFA. Then I have done GMFA CERTIFICATION AND GMSA CERTIFICATION. THEN DONE ISSA PERSONAL TRAINER CERTIFICATION. Now doing ISSA CERTIFIED SPORTS NUTRITION AND TRANSFORMATION SPECIALIST. In the side, studying for online training. I have worked as a personal Trainer but with less salary at rs 7000 + some personal training (50%). My father is not allowing me in this line and telling me the deadline when I will stand on my own. He wants the date and year and will throw me out of my home the time I can stand on my own. He wants a clear cut plan. What should I do?

  • Dr. Chirag Sethi

    Dear Sagar,

Personal training is a good career,  you need to reach out to more people for personal training. May be look at increasing your personal training pricing. In our industry we anyway do not have high salaries. Look at increasing your client base and increasing your personal training fee.

  • Dr. Chirag Sethi

    Dear Kaushik,

I would suggest that you concentrate on your class 12th exams. After that you can look at fitness related degrees. In India you have limited options but you can look at courses in other countries .
There are no long term diploma in India, certain academies call their certificate as diploma but it doesn't really change the content .

Hello Sir, After Personal training which certification should we opt for? Nutrition, rehab ,strength condition etc

  • Dr. Chirag Sethi

    Hi Mukesh ,

It all depends on your interest after a PT certification. If you have interest in nutrition then look for a good nutrition course but if you have a interest training athletes then please look at a strength and conditioning course .
