Stress is an undercurrent in our lives these days. We are so much preoccupied in our daily grind that we don’t get to know the extent of harm stress is causing to our overall health and fitness until we get bogged down from some serious health issues! Yoga can be savior for many of us.

What is stress?

Stress is basically a disconnection from the earth, a forgetting of the breath. Stress is an ignorant state. People are facing stress everywhere, whether it is their homes, offices or even while driving on the road. The world has become a very stressful place. Stress can lead to all sorts of mental and physical illness. How yoga helps relieves stress?  Is yoga good for stress?  How do you manage stress in your life?

Yoga is the way to connect with yourself. Yoga is a mind and body practice that combines physical poses, controlled breathing and meditation or relaxation. Yoga may help reduce stress, lower blood pressure and lower your heart rate and almost anyone can do it. YES, Yoga is good for managing stress and keeps stress induced diseases and illnesses at bay. It makes you strong internally.

Advantages and disadvantages of stress management

Become aware of your own strength, weaknesses and needs. It helps to increase self-confidence and energy. Better concentration and build motivation. It also helps to decrease anxiety. 

Stress is a disadvantage because it can potentially raise your heart rate and weaken your immune system. Also, it can be a factor in poor decision making because under stress we may not think logically or consider the consequences of the choices we make.

  • Get enough sleep
  • Ask for a hug
  • Take a break
  • Talk about your problem
  • Relax your muscles
  • Exercise regularly
  • Smile often

It is important to think about the good side of people and happenings. If you can’t you have to learn to go with the flow, where things are not in your hands and not to fret over things because nothing is above your health. If you can keep yourself intact and healthy, you will be able to deliver good outcomes in your daily official as well as household chores. Yoga helps you manage your mental state in every circumstance. Make yoga a way of life and be consistent with your practice and you will notice a major difference in your mental and physical state in a matter of months!
