Sagnika Malakar: Fitness Is Not Losing or Gaining A Few Pounds!

I am Sagnika Malakar, a 25-year-old from Bangalore. I am a Civil Engineer by profession but fitness & bodybuilding is my passion.

Being an athlete, it is very important for me to be disciplined in life. I live my life in a disciplined way.

I wake up, get fresh and prepare my first 3 meals and go to gym, finish 2 hours of workout session every morning.

Post workout, I make sure that I take a nap for 2 hours so that I have enough energy for rest of the day as I need to prepare the evening meals and finish my evening workout session too.

I have started this journey in 2015, my passion for fitness did not come right away. I started working out with the aim to get fit as an unhealthy lifestyle was taking a toll on my body. But later, I realised that fitness is not just about losing or gaining some pounds. It made me stronger physically and mentally. To keep myself focused, I gave myself an aim and decided to become an athlete.

Till now I have won the title ‘Miss Bangalore Fitness Women’ in 2016 and ‘Miss Karnataka Women Fitness’ in 2017. I have been two times silver medallist in Olympia Pro Qualifier. I will be competing for pro card in next shows. The journey has just began.

Most difficult part is to manage the time as I get hardly any time to spend with my family. But end of the day, I would say it is worth it because the result is incredible!

Sticking to a regular exercise routine is not easy, it takes consistency, patience and commitment. If you want to achieve your goal, don’t skip your training sessions.

Basically, I follow a six-day workout routine along with cardio every morning.

CrossFit and functional workout sometimes depends on what body type I am trying to achieve.

I eat every 3 hours right on time.

My meal consists of chicken, fish, egg whites, salad, green vegetables, brown rice, oats and sweet potatoes.
