My name is Ishita Bhatia. I am an Airline Commander by profession. Married to Sandeep Sharma and mother of a 2-year-old daughter, I started my journey in aviation at the age of 17, right after my 12th standard. I did most of schooling from Chandigarh. I got my first airline job at the age of 19 and have been working ever since.
Time Management
Since we don’t have a fixed routine, I have to plan my meals in advance and fit in quick anytime, anywhere workouts into my schedule. When out of the house I try to eat healthy and swap my meals with salads and protein whenever possible.
Exercise and Nutrition

I always try to listen to my body. I just have to push it enough to be out of comfort zone. I decide what weights are just enough to pick. My mantra is to not to push yourself beyond the limit listening to someone else and stay away from processed food as much as you can. Exercise keeps me happy, both physically and mentally. I mostly do strength training with yoga. I have been working out for as long as I can remember.
Motivation
Workout keeps me happy and motivated. It works wonders for my physical and mental health. I feel more agile and focussed in life with my strength training and yoga. You can only take care of others if you take care of yourself. Self-care is not only important but a necessity.
Role Model
Emily Skye Anderson is my role model. I aspire to be like her. She changed my life. She was so honest about her postpartum journey, it kept me motivated during my pregnancy. I had a particularly tough pregnancy as I had Hyperemesis gravidarum. I could not continue working out during that time. But I used to remind myself each day that once I get my clearance, I will get even stronger than before.
Transformation

When I was young, I wasn’t happy with my body and fitness. So,I decided to change it around. I decided on my fitness goals and started taking baby steps. It is so important to have a fitness goal in mind that you can work towards. Without a goal, there is no direction to work in.
Message to women struggling with post pregnancy weight-loss goals
Personally, as a teenager I was made to feel conscious about my body. I eventually, learnt to respect and love my body. It is where you live. As a woman,I feel proud of my body to have created another human being, my darling daughter.
Give your body time to heal. Get back to fitness slowly, but surely. Even 20 mins a day is a good start. Last but not the least be proud of your body. It created a whole human being! So, give it all the love it deserves. Stay at it and you will achieve your goal.
