I am Ishu Thakur, a 21 years old athlete. I am an Engineering (last year) student. Bodybuilding has always been a passion for me and I have participated in several men’s physique championship.
Like most of the athletes, I dedicate at least 2 to 3 hours in the gym every day. The most challenging part of my journey as an athlete is managing my studies along with my workout and nutrition regimen. I have to balance my time out because studies and workout both need unwavering focus to yield results.
I give a set hours to my study and always take a good sleep so that my brain and body both get refreshed and appropriate recovery is there. I am left with mornings and day time to give to my other areas focus in life because I mostly can go to the gym only in the evening. I do 3-4 sets of exercises per day. My gym-time, however, increases during preparation for competition because cardio workout is then included in it.

I have bagged Mr UP – 2nd position in men’s physique, Mr UP – 3rd position in bodybuilding, Fitline Classic in July 2018, Delhi 4th position. In July 2018, I won 4th position in Sheru Classic. I was placed 3rd in Ameteur Olympia in men’s physique category. I became the winner of male model search 2018 in Sheru Classic.
After putting dedicated hardwork and targeted diet plan in place, I am able to set a place for myself in the bodybuilding and fitness fraternity. There is a lot to be done and achieved in future as well.
My diet plan (per day) for gaining is as follows:
- 300 gram carbs
- 300 gram protein
- 150 gram fat
My basic diet (per day) for leaning is as follows:
- 150 -200 gram carbs
- 400-450 gram protein
- 50 -75 gram fat
Your body reacts differently to different kinds of diet plans but the basics remain the same, especially, if you are competing regularly.
