For Mr India Sanjay Singh Sengar, Dreams are Made in Gym!

Sanjay Singh Sengar is a 32 years old athlete from Bangalore. He is a competitive bodybuilder and trains people in achieving their fitness goals. He represented brands like Neulife, Procel, Cellucor and is currently associated with Crazybulk.

He has judged Muscle Mania in 2014 and has won Mr Karnataka title in 2020. He has also won Mr India title in 2020.

When asked about the challenges he faced, he quoted a famous saying, “There are no shortcuts to success.” And went on to say that no one achieves success overnight. We have to plan every step carefully and strategically. To share the stage with the biggest bodybuilders in this country was his biggest challenge and dream, which doesn’t let him sleep.

He says, “During my free time, I like reading books, watching horror and superhero movies. I am fond of politics, so I like to watch videos related to that as well.”

He states, “I was working in a firm as a HR professional for 6 years. Till 2017 I was also gymming(since 12 yrs) simultaneously as my hobby. By then, I have come a long way in fitness and made more than just an impressive body. One fine day I realised that, I am not made for recruiting people and deciding payrolls. I quit my job in 2017 and got into fitness full time with a vision to become one of the best and finest bodybuilders in the India. I gave myself a time-span of 2 dedicated years after that, to prepare myself and make a qualifying body to participate in the bodybuilding competitions, and here I am.” Here he shares his lifestyle, workout and diet.

Basic Workout

Monday to Friday I do weights with 45 minutes cardio (be it treadmill, cross trainer or spinning bike), and Saturday I bodyweight workouts and CrossFit. On Sundays, I take rest.

Basic Diet

My diet is very simple and easy: I have protein at every meal. It will usually consist of a lean animal protein such as a grilled chicken breast or a piece of fish or eggs, vegetables, and perhaps a starch such as sweet potatoes or rice.

I lead a very healthy lifestyle. I religiously workout and diet for the 6 days in a week, and have a cheat meal on the 7th day of the week. I give enough rest to my body to repair and grow. I believe having a physique like mine is not only about lifting weights but it's a series of mental game.
