Recently, in a WBPF championship, where as many as 38 countries participated, Indians hit a jackpot of 23 medals! In Indian kitty, there were 6 gold, 13 silver and 4 bronze medals. India also scored second place in the team championship category and finished just behind Thailand.
But the man who made all the noise and made the heads turn towards the stage, had the judges attention and appreciation, and left audience transfixed was Chitharesh Natesan. He won the title of Mr Universe in the 90 kg category in WBPF 2019. After his glorious feat, he shared, “For the last 10 years, I have been into bodybuilding. To participate in this championship, I first went for the trials. I got selected for the Indian team and then I began my preparations.” He also informed that he has earlier won Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship earlier this year. He went on to participate in the World championship. He was feeling ecstatic after bringing gold for his country – India.
This man who hailed from the pristine land of Kerala, came to Delhi and then went on to win over the world with Mr Universe title with his sheer hard work. For your information, he completed a course in Physical Education from Lakshmibai National College in Thiruvananthapuram, after which, he went to New Delhi to work as a fitness trainer. From here, he began his journey of profound and hardcore bodybuilding to participate in several competitions and never looked back.
