In a Press Conference on Thursday, Kejriwal said that a Bill was approved by the Cabinet on Thursday and it will be sent to Lt. Governor Anil Baijal. Afterwards, the bill will be tabled in the Delhi Assembly, he informed.
Arvind Kejriwal added further that the ‘Sports University’ will be opened on 90 acre of land in Munda area. This move is aimed to promote sports in the city, he said.
Sports has most of the times earned the status of a leisure activity unless the student is very talented and inclined towards it. Even if the talent is there, there is lack of formal education in the same and mostly, sportsmen become school or college dropouts because they are concentrating on honing their skills in sports more.

Higher education in sports will make them pursue education in the area of their interest and the move will also create skilled sportsmen with knowledge of training and nutrition up their sleeves. This will provide skilled people to the sports industry in various fields. The initiative of opening a ‘Sports University’ in the National Capital is welcomed and appreciated by the people.
